About

Ines is a Tunisian early career researcher. Currently enrolling her PhD in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Desertification, Environment and Climate change in the Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie and the Institut des Régions Arides-Médenine-Tunisie. She holds a master’s degree in Combating Desertification and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources in Dry Areas (2013) from the Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie, and a master’s degree in Land Management in Dry Lands (2017) from UNU-INWEH. Since she comes from a country that suffers from water shortage and direct impact of climate change, Ines was always trying to find solutions to protect water resources. so she starting to study different techniques of Rainwater harvesting and other techniques for soil and water conservation to insure a long-term soil water reserve during severe drought. During her PhD, she was searching solution for irrigation water management and she studied the dynamics of water, heat and fertilizers in the soil mainly in the plant root-zone with the use of new local irrigation technique that can help to get more production with less water, with the concept of "more crop with less drop". Therefore, she started volunteering for the Mediterranean Youth for Water Network since March 2018 as a membership coordinator and for Water Youth Network since November 2018 as coordinator of Integrated Water Resources Management.
