Jaap van Nes, MSc

About

Hydrogeologist with more than 15 years of professional experience in managing international environmental and hydrogeological projects for industries and agriculture. Specialties are groundwater resources, artificial recharge of aquifers, water reuse, soil-plant interactions, insitu bioremediation of soil and groundwater, insitu immobilization of sulphate and metals in groundwater, metal recovery from mine tailings and sensor networks for monitoring toxic algae in water.

In addition to these project management roles, Jaap fulfilled executive roles in remediation contracting in South America. His characteristics as creator and connector are well suited for business development.

Special interest in dilemmas how to feed the world with sustainable agriculture and how to deal with water scarcity. Last years Jaap developed a profound  interest in water harvesting techniques and agroforestry as method for sustainable use of soil and groundwater resources. Recently Jaap followed in a WaSH course given by Dutch Red Cross.

Besides in Chile Jaap worked in Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, and Tanzania.

 

From February 2017 I am available for challenging new international opportunities in water and soil restoration .
