John Bunnik

About

Mr. Bunnik is a (water) engineer specialized in engineering and project/program management and capacity building.

For him it’s a challenge to pass on his organizational and technical skills on all levels. He can manage, motivate and supervise a multidisciplinary team, communicate with local or national authorities, write plans, programs and reports, or teach a local technician to manage a water system or build a water system for a whole town. He is very experienced in organizing and supervising (local) contractors or field staff in Netherlands and in Africa. During his 10 year work experience in Mozambique he had 2 jobs. The first one was managing an 3 year investment program for Vitens-Evides international (Dutch water company) for improving the water systems of 4 cities in the Manica province. After this he started his own company in building water systems. in on average about 100 casual laborers and (local) contractors.

As he also had his own company in the Netherlands, looking for new opportunities, initiating new projects and solving problems is a natural thing for him to do.

Besides managing fieldwork he is very experienced in computer modelling, specifically with groundwater and surface water models, GIS and GPS and complex spreadsheets. Also he is experienced in developing business/investment plans and calculating of running costs.
