Jose Leandro da Silva Duarte, PhD
About
Graduated in Chemistry and Master in Chemical Physics from the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Brazil under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Carmem Lúcia and Silva Zanta. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a collaborator in the Natural Resources Research Laboratory (LPqRN) of UFAL, with emphasis on the phytochemical study of plants, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Antônio Euzébio Goulart Santana, from the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology (IQB) of the same university. In 2009 he joined the Laboratory of Applied Electrochemistry (LEAp) IQB / UFAL. In 2011 he worked under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Carlos Alberto Martinez Huitle in the Laboratory of Environmental and Applied Electrochemistry (LEAA) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), using Platinum and Boron Doped Diamond (DBB) electrodes in the study of antibiotic degradation. In 2014, he began doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Carmem Lúcia and Silva Zanta (IQB / UFAL), studying the toxicity and mechanisms of degradation of emerging contaminants, as well as assisting in the orientation of graduate students in projects related to Advanced Oxidation Processes (POA). Since 2017, as a FULBRIGHT fellow visiting researcher at the Environmental Catalysis, Nanotechnology and Green Engineering Laboratory, University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dionysios D. Dionysiou, has been working in the synthesis and application of nanocatalysts combined with sunlight for the treatment of wastewater.Information
