Lehlogonolo Motsoko holds an Honours Degree Bachelor of Science in Agriculture specializing in Soil Science and Irrigation, he holds various certificates with South African Irrigation institute (SABI): (introduction to irrigation equipments, introduction to irrigation design and advanced irrigation system evaluation). He also holds two international certificates with ICID from South Korea and Egypt (Climate resilient smart irrigation systems and Innovation systems to respond to water scarcity). He also completed multiple certificates with the School of Government (Basic Project Management and others). He previously completed Irrigation internship with the Limpopo Department of Agriculture, where he worked on the installation of water moisture saving techniques and offering farmers advices on irrigation water efficiency. Currently he is employed for over 9 years as an irrigation scientist at Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural development, working under the directorate water use and irrigation development, responsible for establishing new irrigation schemes in South Africa. Additionally, his expertise ranges from irrigation development (planning and design) to irrigation management (operation and maintenance) He is currently conducting projects on irrigation water saving techniques (Tower Garden and Rain Water Harvesting) to promote water use efficiency in smallholder irrigation schemes in South Africa, the projects where implemented in Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape, North West and Free State provinces. He facilitates social media pages and write minutes for South African National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage. He is also ICID Young Water Professional coordinator in South Africa.Information
