About

I am a chemical-environmental engineer prepared to plan, draft, design, supervise, operate and control new processes or reform existent ones. In these processes physical, chemical or biochemical changes take place to transform materials into energy, fuels (Like methane), or elaborated products (Like compost and pesticides). Those changes may generate environmental issues. My role is to understand, prevent, analyze and find solutions to all those possible environmental issues and their impacts.

During the last eight years, I have had the opportunity to study and work on rural and urban solid waste management issues in different parts of the world (China, Chile, and India). I have specialized myself in the treatment of the organic fraction of the studied waste, through a better understanding of the existing bio-physic-chemical phenomena of anaerobic digestion (AD). Thus, I have been able to apply scientific and technical criteria to design, build and operate sustainable AD processes to tackle organic waste management issues.

At present, I am doing my Doctoral studies at Tsinghua University, working on municipal solid waste (MSW) treatment and management projects with Veolia Joint Research Center. Here, I have focused on landfill modeling, possible factors affecting AD process and a better understanding of the effects caused by initial bulk density.
