About
Mohamed Farah Abdi is the Director of Planning and Coordination Department of Ministry of Water Resources Development of Somaliland. He has 15 years of experience in WASH sector development, improvement of access of water resources to the pastoral and agro-pastoral communities in Somaliland and sustainable management of water facilities, institutional capacity building, planning, coordination and strategic management of water supply systems in urban and rural locations for human and livestock drinking and irrigation purposes, and drought resilience to water stress.
Prior to the current position, he worked with UN, NGOs, government, trust fund projects, consulting firms and civil society organizations. He has good experience for community development, supporting public service delivery and technical support of social public services such as water, education, health and livelihoods, emergency responses and community empowerment for durable solutions and strengthening public service delivery. His relevant competencies cover on ensuring effective and transparency basic public services to the disadvantaged groups, IDPs, refugees and drought-affected communities in East Africa.
