About

Nikolaos Skoulikidis geologist (National Kapodistrian University of Athens), obtained his PhD on Greek river biogeochemistry at the University of Hamburg. His present position is Research Director - Head of the Dept. ‘Environmental Research’ at HCMR and responsible for the Research Activity Integrated River Basin Management . His main area of expertise is integrated environmental assessment of aquatic ecosystems focusing on hydrogeochemistry, ecological quality, biogeochemistry, river basin management and restoration. He participated in 60 research projects and co-ordinated(s) 13 international and 7 national ones, related to environmental/ecological assessment and river basin management, and is author of 7 books/book chapters, 55 scientific publications in peer review journals, and over 100 publications in international conference proceedings. He is editor of "The Rivers in Greece" (Springer, Series: The Handbook of Environmental Chemistry, 2016). He has been awarded for his "Scientific Research" on rivers by ECOCITY (2011) as scientist of the year.
