About

Dr. Okechukwu Okogwu is presently the Director of Biotechnology Research and Development Centre, Ebonyi State University, Nigeria. He was the Head of Departments of Applied Biology and Biological Sciences, where he also holds the position of Associate Professor. He obtained Master's and Doctoral degrees in Ecology/Environmental Biology and Hydrobiology/Fisheries from University of Ibadan. He is a TWAS postdoctoral Fellow and a visiting scholar at the Institute of Hydrobiology, Wuhan, China. He is a member of several national and international learned societies, which include International Water Association (IWA), International Society of Limnology (SIL), Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) and Zoological Society of Nigeria (ZSN). He is the secretary of Zoological Society of Nigeria. He has published over 50 scientific articles, 2 books and 2 practical guides. He has presented papers in different scientific meetings around the globe, his research is focused on Aquatic Ecology, Water Quality, Waste water treatment, Biotechnology, Remediation and Restoration Ecology, Fisheries, Molecular Biology, Toxicology, Climate change and Conservation. He serves a reviewer for several journals, including African Journal of Ecology (East Africa), Revista de Biologia Tropical (South America), African Journal of Environmental Science and Technology (Nigeria).
