Managing Partner of Appalachian Management Systems (AMS), which provides “Basic Agency” support for State and Federal agencies administrating Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grants. With over 25 years of economic development experience, the last administering federal grants for federal and state agencies, I have extensive experience implementing federal laws pertaining to grant administration. Accomplishments include managing TVA's Business Incubation Network, helping redesign and expand TVA's Economic Development Loan program, and developing a retail recruiting program. My business philosophy, and passion, is working with communities to make a difference in people's lives.Recent activity, in addition to grant administration, include contracting with EPA to consult on wastewater issues in rural communities, presenting at EPA's National Brownfield conference, participating on the Central Appalachia Brownfields conference committee with federal and state brownfield staff, and helping found the Central Appalachian Brownfields Innovation Network, an initiative to promote and educate on the benefits of sustainable redevelopment in rural Appalachia.
