Ramazani Bizimana, Rural Infrastructure Engineer at Rural Sector Support Project, Rwanda

I am currently employed as Rural Engineer for Rural Sector Support Project (RSSP), the World Bank funded project within the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources-Rwanda.  I have been involved in developing the gravity irrigation systems in marshlands from the identification of the sites, the design studies and the implementation of works whereby the hydro-agricultural infrastructures such as dams, diversion weirs, canals… were constructed as well as the associated postharvest infrastructures like drying bays and storages. Through an other sister project, I gained also more experience in advanced irrigation systems with high efficiency water use such as pressurized system (pipes and sprinklers), lined canals, furrows…
