Microbial Discovery Group is an R&D driven product development and large scale Bacillus fermentation company. Our bioaugmentation products are used in a wide range of markets including:

I specifically work with the wastewater division of MDG.  Regular treatment with our bioaugmentation products will provide significant benefits including:

• Sludge and biosolids reduction:  Large reductions in biosolids are possible (30-50% are common) and this is important because biosolids processing costs typically use up 40-60% of a WWTP’s total operating budget.
• Elimination of FOG related issues:  FOGs (Fats, Oils, and Greases) cause many problems especially in lift stations and collection lines.  FOGs are simply a food source for our bacteria and are broken down into CO₂ and water making them a green and sustainable solution.
• Elimination of offensive odors:  regular treatment eliminates the root causes of odors caused by biological processes.  Noticeable results are apparent in 1-2 weeks.  In wastewater systems, bad odors are caused primarily by H₂S and VFAs (Volatile Fatty Acids).  However, H₂S is much more than just a source of bad odor.  H₂S is a toxic gas and causes corrosion.  Our bacteria prevent the biological production of H₂S and use VFAs as a food source.
