About 16 years of professional experiences in the development field; specifically, in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Emergency Response and Rehabilitation, GIS Mapping, Food Security and Livelihoods, Health & Nutrition and Child Protection .
In the past, I have been working for different organizations such as for instance USAID , DFID, World Bank, SDC, DCA, ECHO, EU, GIZ, SWISS SOLIDARITY, UNICEF and WFP funded projects. Experienced in remote rural places as well as urban, coastal and hill areas throughout whole Bangladesh. I started as a development worker working in different sectors where I developed my leadership skills and currently leading a big programme coordination unit of Terre des hommes with about 250 staffs.
Being in the position of leading the country team, responsible for developing, planning and implementing integrated development programme and projects as well as coordinating and networking with other I/NGOs, UN organizations and donor agencies. I am well versed in report writing and communication. Experienced on handling emergency operations having adequate knowledge on the delivery of lifeline services as humanitarian response, technical information, basic grounding on humanitarian principles, Standards and key aspects of humanitarian work, like needs assessment, community mobilization & organization, logistics, security, teamwork, monitoring and effective coordination.
In addition to that, I also have several professional training/courses on Project Cycle Management (Thailand), Engineering in Emergencies (Nepal), Urban WASH in Emergencies (London, United Kingdom), Integrated Flood Management (Switzerland), Leadership for Humanitarians (Bangladesh) and Sphere and Companions (Thailand) and WASH in Schools (Kenya). These training courses are very useful to design programme/projects systematically following analysis of the situation/context, strategic planning, operational programming and monitoring & evaluation.
Currently, I am handling Tdh’s entire programme in Bangladesh from design stage to evaluation stage and ensuring that the project is being implementing as per specification in stipulated time with quality. I can handle high-pressure environments with ease and open mind and I am a good team player with efficient communication being able to present my points precisely to listeners.
