Sunita Danuwar: is a leading social activist, was a victim of human trafficking. She is a shining example of a massive transformation, one which led her to be a counselor and advocate for girls suffering the same fate. In fact, she is the founder member and current Executive Director of Shakti Samuha, a non-governmental organization. Shakti Samuha has evolved into the first shelter for survivors of human trafficking in Nepal, one, that has been run with dignity by the victims with extra-ordinary love and forgiveness, so that it was awarded the well-deserved Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2013. She has been awarded by The C10 Award in Sweden Stockolm in 2014, Asia Human Rights and Democracy Award by Taiwan Foundation for Democracy in 2015, World Women Leadership achievement by World Women Congress in 2015, Honored by the Nepal Government on the occasion of Anti Human Trafficking Day in 2016. Founder Member and Current Executive Director Ms. Danuwar has also received "With and for Girls Award" in 2016 on the behalf of Shakti Samuha in London organized by Stars Foundation, French Republic Human Rights Awards by French Government in French Embassy at Kathmandu in 2015.

Ms. Danuwar has also participate in the various national and international forum. She has participate in 3rd SAARC People's Forum in Bangladesh in 2003,Participation in presentation of Oxfam research on Violence against Women organized by Oxfam in Thailand in November 2003,participation in GAATW Congress organized by GAATW in December 2004,Participation in the program of Anti Trafficking issue organized by GAATW on July 2010,Cross border workshop on " Good Practices on support services for the victims of Trafficking" organized by BNWLF in association with IOM, Dhaka in 2013,Program organized of Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on March 2015 in USA, Trust Women Conference in 2016 organized by Thomson Reuters Foundation in London, 1st World's Survivors forum organized by Freedom Fund in 2016, Global Survivors Forum in 2016 organized by Ecpat International, 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum, Chaing Mai, Thailand organized by Asia pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development .
