About

My research interests are in geomorphology, soil science and the link to biogeochemical cycles. My focus lies on soil erosion by water and the role of sediment transport in carbon and nutrient cycling across landscapes. In my current research I combine mathematical and conceptual modelling with remote sensing and in-situ data on global datasets such as climate, vegetation, soil and topography, to estimate sediment fluxes on large spatial scales.
In my current research I am working on a globally applicable soil erosion and sediment budget model that can be used in and earth system model framework to estimate global sediment fluxes. I am also working on the link between these large scale sediment fluxes and the related carbon and nutrient fluxes.
