Dr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey is affiliated with Nepal Office of International Water Management Institute (IWMI) since mid-November, 2016. He has over six years of post-PhD experience from Japan, Nepal and Thailand in the broader areas of water resources assessment and management, including hydrological modeling; climate change vulnerability and adaptation in water sector; groundwater characterization/assessment/management; water security; and water-energy-food security nexus. Before joining IWMI, he worked as a Researcher and Affiliated Faculty with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand (Mar 2015 – Nov 2016); Research Faculty with Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Nepal (Jul 2013 – Mar 2015); and Postdoctoral researcher with University of Yamanashi, Japan (Oct 2010 – Jun 2013). He has received several awards/fellowships and authored/co-authored nearly 30 peer-reviewed journal papers, several book chapters and conference papers. He has co-edited three books, namely, “Groundwater Environment in Asian Cities: Concepts, Methods and Case Studies (Publisher: Elsevier), “Climate Change and Water Resources (Publisher: CRC Press)”, and “Kathmandu Valley Groundwater Outlook (Publisher: AIT/CREEW/SEN/ICRE-UY)”. Dr. Pandey received B.Eng. (Civil) from Tribhuvan University (Nepal), M.Eng. (Water Engineering and Management) from AIT (Thailand) and PhD (Integrated River Basin Management) from University of Yamanashi (Japan).
