About

Mr. Waled Mahmud has more than 20 years of professional experience in research and consulting in the diverse arena including WASH, health, education sector, etc. He has considerable expertise on conducting qualitative and quantitative researches as well as development of research methodology; preparation and development of the technical & financial proposal and the expression of interest; development of research tools and comprehensive analysis of primary data; analytical report writing & presentation; monitoring & evaluation, baseline, midline, end-line survey; management & operation; strength, weakness, opportunity & threat (SWOT) analysis; development of case studies & success stories; articles for publication at international journals; participation on national and international conferences workshops etc.; review of the government policy documents & provide strategy guidelines. He has also significant experience in capacity development (institutional and technical development), project cycle management and implementation, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation.

 

Mr. Mahmud has been worked with several international and national organizations, including Water and Sanitation Program-South Asia (WSP-SA), the World Bank, IUCN, Verulam Associates South Asia Office and ITN-BUET, Bangladesh. He also has extensive experience to serve on various projects under European Commission, SIDA-Sweden, etc. He has provided enormous number of consultancy services under various organizations including the World Bank, UNDP, UNHCR, ADB, WaterAid Bangladesh, Plan Bangladesh, Practical Action Bangladesh, UNICEF, ICDDRB, JICA, Water 1st, Water.Org, FHI 360, Caritas Bangladesh, Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF), etc.

 

Mr. Mahmud has a number of research reports, publications, and modules to his credit. He has the enormous number of publications both in national and international journals, magazines, papers, etc. He has also attended a respective number of training courses and participated in different national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, symposiums, etc. He has completed Master’s in Development Studies (MDS) and also obtained Master’s in Commerce (Management) and a Diploma in Management Consultancy (PgDMC) from IMC Bangladesh. He is the member of several professional bodies, including Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC), World Toilet Organization (WTO) and World Water Council (WWC). He is the Life Member of the University of Dhaka and alumni of Global Campus 21, InWent – Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH. He has visited United Kingdom (UK), India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and Thailand.
