About

My doctoral is focused on studying Water Engineering and management. Parallel to my Doctoral studies, I was also honored with a two-year research fellowship in University of Central Asia through its mountain Society Research Institute to conduct through studies on Amu River Basin to assess perception of and adaptation to climate change and drought by farmers. I received my Master’s degree in Water Engineering and Management from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand in 2010, and holds a B.Sc in Civil Engineering from Herat University, 2005.

Through my work experiences as senior advisor to minister at ministry of energy and water of Afghanistan, I have made numerous contributions on Afghanistan’s Climate Change Policy which provides practical and comprehensive plan to mitigate the effects of climate change. I also have experienced in applying my research skills in real case studies with various international organizations. In 2013, I conducted researches titled “Scoping Green Growth Challenges and Opportunities in Afghanistan” funded by DFID and implemented by Oxford Policy Management. On February 2016, I engaged with IWMI as consultant on project with funding from USAID under their PEER program to research the future of Kabul River Basin under different climate scenarios, infrastructure development, and population growth. Moreover, on 2016, I was offered an international consultancy contract with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN in developing a global monitoring framework for forest-water interactions in order to improve the quantification of forest-water relationships.
