Zachary Scott, Environmental Engineer

About

I am a diversely trained scientist and engineer with over eighteen  years of experience in environmental research.  As a chemist and hydrologist I have sampled and analyzed air, soils, and water (ie. ground, surface, wastewater, industrial).  As a consulting engineer I have remediated contaminated soils and aquifers, designed water, wastewater, and wastewater nutrient recovery systems, prepared grant proposals, and done project management and research to commercialize sludge pretreatment and primary filtration technologies.  During my doctoral studies I used molecular tools to identify and quantify bacteria, and used respirometry to study the kinetic behavior of these bacteria in anaerobic wastewater treatment systems. I have taught several university-level engineering courses in addition to my normal employment. I am a co-inventor on the application for three wastewater treatment US patents.
