ABOUT OUR OPERATION
Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Energy & Infrastructure General Supervisor, the Water Management Supervisor will perform his/her duties as a member of the energy and infrastructure department and collaborate with other departments of the division. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of water treatment specialists (SWTP, ERWP & RO);
- Monitor the sea discharge process and E&I involvement in the pound pumping;
- Ensure freshet preparation is in accordance with environmental standards;
- Ensure the effective management of contractors aligned with projects and budgets;
- Apply the principles and practices of the Supervision Formula;
- Apply and review the best water management practices in the day-to-day job;
- Provide impeccable health and safety follow-through and leadership;
- Oversee and monitor equipment operations and maintenance sequences;
- Ensure all related equipment is operating at optimal efficiency;
- Ensure proper transfer of information with the cross-shift;
- Provide support for the department during off-season (winter).
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Professional diploma and/or professional certification in a related field;
- 3 to 5 years of proven leadership/supervisory experience is required;
- Mining experience is an asset;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in and lead a team;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Candidates must attain a passing grade on a SPEEXX English Language Assessment.
