About

American Water College was founded in 2006 with a vision to provide high quality, cost-effective training to operators in the water and wastewater fields. It is our goal to help you achieve your goals.

Technical Training

Our Water Treatment, Distribution System, and Wastewater training programs have been developed and reviewed by professionals with real-life operator experience. This helps ensure that the information presented is relevant to you.

But just having relevant training was not enough for us, so we didn’t stop there! We also wanted to make the training affordable and convenient for operators all across the country, so we took the training program online. Our first online courses were launched in 2007. Since that time, thousands of courses have been taken by industry professionals from all across the country.

We know that many eLearning providers have not moved out of the new millennium in delivering internet-based training. The typical eLearning course consists of text on a web page that you read, and then take a test. But that was not good enough for us. We wanted to bring water industry training into the 21st century!

We know that having access to someone to answer your course related questions is important, and that reading text from a computer screen can be tiresome, so we decided to do things differently than other training providers. All of our technical training courses have video lectures to provide you with an interactive learning experience. When you enroll in a course, you will have access to an instructor who can answer your course related questions, as well as access to our student and technical support teams. We won’t leave you in the dark when you have a question.

In addition to our online courses, we regularly partner with agencies to host regional classroom certification exam preparation classes. These classes are taught by qualified American Water College instructors who are knowledgeable in the subject matter, in addition to being engaging teachers who won’t bore students to sleep. Through the use of visual aids, PowerPoint presentations, and the benefit of real life experience, our instructors will prepare you to take your certification exam.

Additional classroom training opportunities, such as math review classes and new treatment technology overview classes, are available for in-house training sessions. These sessions are normally geared toward fulfilling continuing education requirements.
