Amirkabir Water Research & Technology Development Center (Fanab)

With general policies of Amirkabir University of Technology, as well as Iran’s legislation and master plans, the mission of Fanab is to enhance well-being includes: public awareness, education, research, design and production of essential technology to address current problems and demands of Iran’s water sector.

The main strategies of Fanab are describe as:

1. First: Take part in national policy making to ensure that water sector policies focus on priority issues.
2. Second: Collect and evaluate water sector data (regional and local data) to enable accurate project implementation
3. Third: Extract and supply water such to enhance available water resources.
4. Fourth: Audit, standardize and enhance water use profitability towards reducing wasteful usage.
5. Fifth: Protect water resources (lakes, rivers, groundwater, reservoirs) and harness surface runoff to eliminate waste of water resources and reduce the cost of natural and man-made damages to them.
6. Sixth: optimize water distribution lines towards enhancing the quality of industrial projects and water related products
7. Seventh: Make the best use of knowledge and experience of key individual: the faculty, staff, and graduates of AUT and other research institutes.
8. Eight: Organize and develop executive procedures to enable accurate project implementation.
