Academy Project: Technical and Business Analysis of Juice Concentration by Forward Osmosis
Introduction
Aquaporin A/S is an innovative water technology company that uses natural aquaporin proteins to create highly efficient membranes in the segment of reverse and forward osmosis. Guided by core values of customer commitment, innovation, collaboration, and empowerment, Aquaporin is dedicated to revolutionizing water treatment and addressing global water challenges.
The proposed project will contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions in the beverage industry, aligning with Aquaporin's mission to revolutionize water treatment technologies.
The selected candidate will have a unique opportunity to closely collaborate with the Commercial Engineering Forward Osmosis department and explore commercial and industrial perspectives.
Objective:
Project aims to explore the innovative application of Aquaporin's forward osmosis technology in the juice industry.
This project will involve a comprehensive analysis of both the technical aspects and business potential of using forward osmosis for juice concentration.
The candidate will investigate the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of this method compared to traditional techniques. Additionally, the study will assess market opportunities and potential commercial benefits for Aquaporin. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into future product development and strategic business decisions.
Main tasks:
Define success criteria for Forward Osmosis process with focus on:
Quality of product
Process and process intensification
Identify, evaluate and propose fruit, vegetable juices most suitable for concentration by forward osmosis
Identify and quantify the economic benefits and constraints of Forward osmosis technology
Student Opportunities and Profile
Selected candidate will strengthen his/her ability in the efficiency evaluation of the membrane process for juice concentration, enhancing their technical and analytical skills. They will develop expertise in market research and economic evaluation, valuable for business development careers. Additionally, student will be part of a diverse international company with a flat hierarchy.
An ideal candidate is pursuing degrees in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
