Arhel Ltd., SME, www.arhel.si, established in 2002, has extensive experience with mechatronics, development of measurement instruments and sensors for physical quantities. An important part of the production and services represent industrial electronics and automatization of working processes. Company`s mission is a transfer of innovative ideas into commercial products, provision of comprehensive customer services and manufacture of turnkey products and systems. Arhel provides solutions for companies that require support in development of their products; manufacturing companies that require solutions in the field of automation control and regulation of production processes, research institutions that require transfer of their research ideas and results into final products and research laboratories looking for specific solutions in the field of analytical techniques and sample preparation. Among the most important products developed on customers demand were: End-over-end rotator with precise temperature control for the preparation of soil samples used in assessment of toxic metals bioavailability Microcomputer control system for the separation centrifuge LAPX 404 Preamplifier of signals for increased accuracy of measurements of different sensors Galvanically isolated preamplifiers of electrodes for pH, Rx, O2 and conductivity Adjustable computer controlled 4.5 kW power supply for electrolytic cells Operation and control system for rational water use in the industrial production, etc. In the last two years, a significant stress has been given on the development of company`s own solutions in the field of environmental technologies. In this context, company complements its broad expertise in the field of physics, electronics, computer science and mechatronics with knowledge of chemistry and ecology and realise it in solving environmental problems, optimization of laboratory tests and other products and services that require high-tech solutions in the field of electronics. The important products in this sector are: Portable device and energy autonomous robotic floating platform for in-situ detection of cyanobacteria and other water parameters and triggering of the lytic cycle of cyanobacteria to prevent harmful bloom and release of toxins (demonstration phase supported by LIFE Stop CyanoBloom project). Electrolytic cells as an advanced electrochemical technology solution for degradation of persistent compounds and removal of metal ions from water (supported by LIFE PharmDegrade project). Arhel’s services cover the entire process of design and product development in the field of mechanics and electronics: concept design, feasibility study, cost optimization, time planning; system level design and planning of production process; the final assemblage of the product; preparation of production documentation; prototype construction. In the environmental projects area and solutions in the field of environmental technologies Arhel performs screening and analysis of environmental, physical, chemical and biological parameters; proposal and selection of optimal solutions with financial evaluation; project solution with a prototype; testing the prototype and performance optimization; product manufacturing and insurance of operation. Working group consists of a team of experts in the field of electronics, physics, mechatronics, computer science, engineering, ecology and environmental protection, which promises synergy in different experimental and work approaches to achieve company’s goals. The group has established close connections with the most important Slovenian research institutes and universities. Recently, the company cooperates actively on projects with the National Institute of Biology, Biotechnical Faculty and Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Ljubljana.
