What You Will Contribute:
The SaaS Engineering team is looking for a motivated and experienced Software Development Manager to own and lead an engineering team out of the Global Water Center in downtown Milwaukee. This is a highly visible position with significant impact and growth opportunities. You are your team will shape the future of technology in the water industry.
The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading a team of talented engineers guiding the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, and delivery. You will shape the team’s technical roadmap and work closely with leadership to shape our BEACON software as a service platform.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and motivate Software Engineers
- Produce clean, efficient code based on user stories
- Design and architect complex software systems
- Develop project plans, from ideation to market
- Prepare and follow budgets while balancing resource allocation
- Integrate software components and third-party applications
- Maintain and support existing services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
- Programming experience in Python, C#, Java, or other object-oriented languages
- Demonstrates strong initiative and motivation
- Demonstrates appropriate judgement and decision making
- 7+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of experience of designing, and developing scalable services
- 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
- Experience taking a lead role in architecting, designing, and building complex software systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
