Porous Alpha (foamed glass in powder and granules), produced from glass waste after the sorting process in glass recycling plants, is used in sustainable processes of soil care for agricultural production, wastewater treatment, microbial deodorizing, roof gardening, soilless agriculture and support media. Besides contributing to glass waste reuse, Porous Alpha can be successfully used to improve soil/substrate conditions in certain sustainable agriculture practices, by reducing the water demand and enhancing nutrient retention, and to act as a biofilter in different wastewater processes
