Better Water. Better World.®
Ideal for Residential/Commercial Applications and Water Reuse Systems:
As a global leading manufacturer of decentralized wastewater, septic system enhancements, and stormwater systems products, Bio-Microbics has decades of real world operating history with more than 50,000 installations in over 60 countries. Through a worldwide distributor network, Bio-Microbics has been recognized as a leader in exporting our decentralized equipment with receiving the 2011 KS Exporter of the Year Award and the 2012 President's "E" Award for Excellence in Exports.
Bio-Microbics FAST® and BioBarrier® Membrane BioReactors are designed for new/existing residential development to high-strength commercial and municipal capabilities. Whether in a residential setting or commercial property, these innovative, decentralized treatment systems are operating right now. Unnoticed. And that's just the way we like it.
Bio-Microbics has had a number of firsts to its credit and throughout its history. The FAST® treatment technology was first used on marine applications. The FAST® systems were the first to get certified for residential use and general permitting for Nitrogen Reduction throughout many States. The BioBarrier® was the first MBR system certified for residential applications, Nitrogen reduction, and Water Reuse by the NSF International organization.
Bio-Microbics has developed a number of innovative products, some of which have revolutionized methods of dealing with the treatment of sewage on sites - where infrastructure and drainage was and is not available. With a worldwide emphasis on environmental concerns and improving water quality, our pre-engineered, pre-packaged, certified, "Fixed Integrated Treatment Technologies" (FITT®) are the result of decades of real world operating history and proven results that offer significant environmental benefits…FITT® for the Purpose Intended.
Bio-Microbics® History
In 1996, Bio-Microbics, Inc. was founded by a wastewater conglomerate to commercialize the FAST® Technology first developed in 1969 for workboats and ships technology to treat wastewater for decentralized homes and communities and storm water run-off using.
Today in 2013, Bio-Microbics now has a presence in over sixty countries. Used successfully in municipal, industrial, marine, commercial and residential type applications for over 35 years, Bio-Microbics popular wastewater treatment systems are based on environmentally sound and simple scientific principles to deliver consistent high performance. Ideal for fiberglass, steel, or locally-made concrete tanks, our systems are pre-engineered in a simple, modular design for easy shipment around the globe.
Scienco/FAST® History
In the early 1960's, the U.S. Coast Guard had a problem with ships cruising in the coastal waters dumping untreated sewage overboard, causing excessive pollution. Collaborating with a major ship builder and the University of Kansas, there was a need to come up with a solution that had to meet three criteria for the FAST® Technology to be designed:
1.It had to be fairly small in size;
2.It had to have low maintenance requirements, since the ships' mechanics who would be maintaining the system had to be available for the much more critically necessary ships' engines at any given time; and,
3.It had to effectively treat wastewater with varying hydraulic flows. After much research and testing, the marine FAST® system was born. In fact, the system worked so well that engineers saw possibilities for many additional uses for the technology, including for land-based systems manufactured by Bio-Microbics, Inc.
Since the first installation onboard a river tugboat in 1969, the FAST® systems for marine applications is the preferred system in the Great Lakes, Gulf of Mexico, and many other parts around the world.
SeptiTech® History
Also founded in 1996, SeptiTech, a subsidiary of Bio-Microbics, Inc., manufactures onsite wastewater treatment systems for residential and commercial applications and patented PLC control panels.
Since receiving the EPA Environmental Technology Innovator Award in 2000, SeptiTech® system utilizes an enhanced, unsaturated media filter technology for the STAAR™ (Smart Trickling Anaerobic/Aerobic Recirculating) Filter Systems.
Completing the EPA-Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program in 2002 and the NSF/ANSI Standard 40/245 testing in 2008, the SeptiTech system maintains low levels of Nitrate-N. The SeptiTech STAAR™ biological trickling filter systems are designed to treat wastewater with minimal operator oversight while delivering consistently high quality treatment even during peak flows, low flows or intermittent flows.
SeptiTech® STAAR™ Commercial systems are routinely specified for schools, housing developments, shopping centers, restaurants and nursing homes. The smart technology is known in the industry for its design versatility and ability to accommodate non-standard applications such as high strength waste and strict effluent requirements.
Global Products, Local Support
We use a growing network of dedicated Distributors, Representatives, and Dealers focused on the system and commitment to the project. From consulting during design to ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment over time, our trained experts offer sewage treatment system and industrial water treatment solutions.
Our core belief is that innovative use of simple, low cost, and robust treatment systems are an important part of a sustainable future for our planet.
