Summary
Serves as the Safety of Dams Engineer for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Division, Operations Department of the United States Section, International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) responsible for overseeing and managing projects with multi-disciplinary aspects to ensure technical soundness of the Safety of Dams Program which includes determining work, identifying resources, setting priorities, and developing deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Develops operating procedures and standards for work quality and output for the dam safety program.
- Evaluates projects to determine the most appropriate and economical systems to serve the facility.
- Coordinates, facilitates, and participates in dam safety inspections.
- Manages Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) to provide for public safety and asset preservation.
- Reviews contractor qualifications, design documents, design specifications, outage requests, and project schedules.
- Writes technical procurement, purchase and construction specifications, and prepares Scopes of Work and cost estimates.
