Independent Impact Assessment of Handpump Boreholes in 3 Communities in Nigeria

Realizing water is life, and recognizing the ever increasing need for water by women and children in poor communities in Nigeria, we are carrying out independent impact assessment of UNICEF/UKAID handpump boreholes projects that are implemented in 3 selected communities in Kaduna state, Nigeria.

We want to see if the project meets the need of women in the 3 communities, what are the connections and disconnection of water needs of women and girls, and how can the project find nexus to real WASH needs of women and be listened to. How can the project be relevant and continue to be relevant in post Covid19 given the importance of handwashing and health.

We are looking for organizations that would like to partner with us for this program. Mapping of the project site of boreholes have since commenced.

The result is expected to be shared with all so we can learn about the lessons from the research.
