City of Davis

About

The City of Davis is celebrating a BIG birthday. Join us to celebrate the City’s past, present, and future.

To honor our first residents and all those who came after, we are planning a year-long celebration in 2017. The annual City Fourth of July Celebration will serve as the City’s official birthday party.  Many other events are being planned.

Centennial Plaza

The original town of Davisville was comprised of the first two blocks of what is now G Street after the railroad came to town in 1868. The City was officially incorporated on March 28, 1917. As part of our Centennial Celebration, the City is designating the southeast corner of Second and G Streets as “Centennial Plaza”. The walk from the history Southern Pacific train station to the intersection will be updated with new landscaping, hardscape, art work, interpretive historical signage, a time capsule, and a public plaza.
