Highly responsible professional and administrative work managing high level and high priority projects with departmental engineering responsibilities.  This work involves coordination, implementation and monitoring of advanced and complex professional engineering work associated with the design, review, management and construction of projects of large scope for the City.  Work also includes advanced professional and financial work in the design, management and preparation of plans and contract documents for permitting and construction of capital projects and rehabilitation of: buildings, parks, municipal water mains, reclaimed water mains, sanitary sewer mains, sanitary pump stations, stormwater pump stations, roadway construction, stormwater management, and stormwater drainage projects or water distribution, water treatment and wastewater and stormwater systems.  Work is performed under the general direction of the department director or designee. Hours outside the normal workday may be required.

EXPERIENCE:

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with colleagues, other City employees and the public. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to research, develop, and write reports, memos, technical presentations.  Ability to work effectively in teams. Ability to manage and prioritize routine, specialized and complex assignments and problems utilizing knowledge acquired through prior education, training, and experience.  Ability to make presentations to small or large audiences.  Ability to adapt to an evolving and continually improving environment. Requires demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer and office software such as MS Word, Project, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook.
