Position Overview:
A unique opportunity to join a fast-growing and innovative startup in the Minneapolis-St Paul area. Claros Technologies is an advanced materials company developing sustainable solutions for a variety of industries. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Research and Development Engineer to join our team. As a Research and Development Engineer, you will be supporting new product development, innovating engineering design, and will be a key member of the technical team for Claros’ environmental remediation products. Position will be filled as a Junior or Senior level depending upon experience.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Contribute to new product development in water filtration, sorbents, and ion exchange resins under the direction of the Research and Development Director
- Support internal research and development through sorbent material synthesis and testing
- Innovate and recognize opportunities for new product development and applications
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an accredited institution
- Experience working in water remediation or filtration
- Experience in the design and chemical synthesis of sorbent materials including ion exchange resin materials
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Desired Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following:
- One (1) or more years of experience in sorbent materials and ion exchange resin design
- One (1) year of experience working in membrane filtration, bed filtration design and process design
- Experience with polymer chemistry
