Drop2Drink unit - drinking water from rainwater
Published on by Jeroen Renders for D2D Water Solutions B.V.
The Drop2Drink unit is a patented decentralized filtration system that produces potable water out of rainwater. The Drop2Drink unit produces drinking water on-demand and on-site from local rainwater. The system has been WHO certified and has received the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label.
The system has been designed for residences, but can of course be applied in other buildings (max capacity 50m3/hour custom unit). The Drop2Drink unit is plug & play, mechanical, self-cleaning (UF) and automatically performs a daily integrity check to guarantee quality and can be monitored remotely (including pressure, flow and status). This offers the unique possibility to quickly design and implement water infrastructures, futureproof buildings, guarantee water quality on location (compliant with the Dutch drinking water parameters) and applying the Drop2Drink unit does not require a second piping system (contrary to “grey water systems”). The system also filters PFAS from the water (to 0,01µ).
The Drop2Drink unit is a part of a rainwater harvesting system and requires a storage tank, pump and prefilters.
