Job Description
At Danfoss High Pressure Pumps (HPP) business unit, we are a leading innovator of energy efficient high-pressure equipment for the water and wastewater treatment industries, in particular desalination.
As a standalone BU within Danfoss, High Pressure Pumps is helping to fight water scarcity and increase energy efficiency in the global water industry. With a strong market and customer focus, our dedication to excellence and innovation has driven our success and strong growth, and we are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Global Sales to join our executive team and lead our High Pressure Pumps (HPP) global sales and service efforts.
Our new Head of Global Sales will be instrumental in developing and executing our ambitious global growth strategy. As part of the BU Leadership team, you will be responsible to maximize global profitable turnover, position new products seamlessly into the market and to deliver superior field service, through a combination of direct and in-direct sales channels. You will lead a large global growing team of dedicated sales and field service people, and handle the interfaces to key stakeholders within the water industry and within Danfoss. Building on our already strong growth, you build and develop organization, empowering individuals to unlock their full potential and shape the future of our business.
Job Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, we envision you to be able to:
- Establish and enforce challenging sales targets for the HPP sales management, leveraging Danfoss systems and tools.
- Drive and develop the sales and field service organization to achieve ambitious sales targets, including cross-selling Danfoss products.
- Continuously evolve sales and field service approaches and organizational structures.
- Cultivate and nurture strong customer relationships through the sales and field service teams.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with commercial partners such as agents, distributors, and wholesalers.
- Ensure that field service operations enhance customer value and contribute to increased sales.
- Ensure compliance with Danfoss policies and regulations in all commercial activities.
- Actively contribute to the development of the HPP Strategy through profound market understanding.
- Lead and mentor a sales team of 35 professionals encompassing Sales, Field Service, and Sales Support.
- Optimize the global organizational structure, including regional reporting lines, to maximize efficiency.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with external commercial partners and industry stakeholders.
- Actively contribute as a key member of the BU Leadership Team.
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills and background:
- Master's degree in technical or commercial discipline, or Bachelor's degree in technical field paired with an MBA.
- Over 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years directly engaging with customers.
- Proven leadership skills, including leading teams and navigating complex organizational structures.
- Demonstrated expertise in sales and negotiation, with a focus on driving growth and delivering results.
- Strong understanding of the pump, water, or related industries, with exposure to diverse cultural environments, particularly in Asia and MEA.
- Expect to travel globally, averaging 50-80 days annually depending on location.
