Summary
Position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Crow Agency, Montana.
This is a permanent full-time seasonal appointment. Incumbent will be in pay status at least 13 pay periods (26 weeks) or more depending on funding and workload not-to-exceed 25 pay periods per calendar year. Services will not be required at certain times due to lack of work, lack of funds, weather conditions, ceiling limitations, or other unforeseen circumstances and will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Responsibilities
Perform treatment and filtration processes to change the taste, odor, physical, chemical , or bacteriological content of the water.
Operate complicated and numerous equipment, recording and metering devices and units and settle basins for wastewater of the plants.
Perform maintenance checks of all equipment and mixes chemicals for purification process of the water.
Use various testing equipment and measuring devices to test/analyze water.
Maintain and operate the sewer facilities of the Agency; respond to community request of service
delivery of water breaks and sewer issues.

Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:

Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)

Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (other than blueprinting reading)

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.

Incumbent is required to operate a government motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license, and have a safe driving record within the 4 year period immediately preceding submittal of GSA Form 3607.
Selectee must possess or be able to obtain a valid water treatment plant operator's license within six months of employment.
