DuPont expands WAVE Pro platform with integrated multi-technology water treatment design tool
DuPont has enhanced its Water Application Value Engine (WAVE Pro) platform with integrated modelling capabilities that enable water treatment professionals to design systems incorporating ultrafiltration (UF), ion exchange resins (IER), reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) within a single digital environment.
The upgraded web-based platform is designed to support municipal and industrial water treatment applications, including drinking water production, industrial utility water, wastewater treatment and seawater desalination.
According to DuPont, the integrated modelling approach reduces the need to run separate simulations for individual technologies, helping to minimise manual data-entry errors while providing a more comprehensive view of system performance. The platform also captures interactions between treatment processes, allowing engineers to evaluate how upstream operations can influence downstream performance. For example, the software can model how UF pretreatment affects RO system operation, supporting more efficient system design.
"We're excited to offer our municipal and industrial customers a water treatment design tool that connects ultrafiltration, ion exchange resins, reverse osmosis, and nanofiltration in one comprehensive platform," said Sylvia Insogna, Digital Leader, DuPont Water Solutions. "By bringing these core water treatment technologies together, WAVE Pro provides more accurate, data-driven system design that optimizes membrane and energy use, can extend asset lifetimes, and helps customers reduce the environmental footprint of water treatment while achieving their operational and financial goals."
The company said the enhanced platform also supports more complex treatment configurations, including recycle streams and closed-loop systems that cannot be accurately represented using single-technology modelling tools. In addition, WAVE Pro allows multiple users to collaborate on the same project, securely share reports and access the platform through a web browser on Windows or iOS devices.
WAVE Pro is available free of charge through DuPont Water Solutions' WaterApp digital platform and integrates the company's portfolio of ultrafiltration, ion exchange, reverse osmosis and nanofiltration technologies into a single design environment.
