If you are a Business Development Manager in the water/wastewater industry, looking to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Pittsburgh, PA, (preferably), will consider, Houston, TX, Riverside, CA, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Warren, NJ . you will study and create a strategic direction for the water sales and proposal teams, provide sales guidance and support, train on market awareness, and identify competitive differentiators within the market. In this position, you will drive a significant portion of new business through large pursuits in water/wastewater. You will also disseminate market knowledge through the development of water/wastewater specific sales collateral, run industry market campaigns, and attend/present at industry events.

We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.
As the Business Development Manager, Water and Wastewater, you will:
- Lead mega pursuits by developing responses to technical questions, coordinating demo equipment & software including developing custom applications of our product, Ovation, as well as on-site interviews and scripted evaluations
- Manage large water fleet's 10-15 year investment strategies. Collaborate with SME's to identify the ideal timeframe to introduce new technology and the associated cost savings.
- Work with customers to understand their needs and direction over the planning period. Develop strategy in conjunction with lifecycle planning team to best leverage customer spend over planning period.
- Develop & maintain marketing collateral and presentations for the sales force to address industry issues and solutions. Design customer demonstrations and event application software for DCS technology presentations.
- Develop relationships with key water/wastewater GC's and AE's to influence specifications and end user preference.
- Train PWS sales teams to better position our products and services against competitors. Also train on new products and services.
- Author abstracts and actively participate in key industry forums and committees.
- Identify project quantitative business results (QBRs) by collaborating with project engineering and end users. Develop promotional material based on these results.
- Compile & maintain comprehensive contact lists of prospective clients to launch targeted marketing campaigns to meet financial objectives. Review industry publications and bid postings to uncover new opportunities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPEREINCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree or will consider experience in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 7 years of Utility Water industry experience, with a proven track record of meeting financial objectives, working with general contractors, architect engineering firms and large to mid-sized municipalities,
- Extensive knowledge of competitive control systems, HMI platforms, Wand SCADA software packages.
- Legal authorization to work in the United State
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPEREINCE & SKILLS:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related degree.
- Expert knowledge on Ovation products & services, a deep knowledge of market level pricing for water/wastewater control systems
