3D Geospatial Web Developer II - Maps SDK for JavaScript

At the Esri R&D Center Zurich, we are looking for a result-driven product engineer who will help us to grow and foster the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript for 3D workflows. Our SDK empowers web developers around the globe to build compelling mapping applications.

Responsibilities
- Drive and collaborate with the team on new functionality for 3D workflows and visualizations
- Gather and analyze requirements to ensure the SDK meets the needs of developers, stakeholders, and end users
- Test the usability and functionality of the SDK and recommend improvements
- Write comprehensive documentation, code samples, and release notes to assist developers in effectively utilizing the SDK
- Stay updated with industry trends, providing insights and suggestions for future improvements in 3D web mapping
- Educate the development team on potential use cases in various industries
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in cartography, geospatial science or/and computer science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience with JavaScript, ideally TypeScript, CSS, and HTML, and experience in developing with web APIs
- Solid ArcGIS or other geospatial technology experience
- Good intuition for the aesthetics and technical aspects of information visualization
- Passion for quality, detail oriented, and knowledge on how to break software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Existing work authorization for Switzerland
Recommended Qualifications
- Industry experience in building geospatial, 3D, or web applications
- Experience in quality assurance, test strategies, test automation, and developing test scripts
- Experience with writing technical documentation
- 3D graphics background, such as knowledge of polygonal data structures, WebGL, shaders, and more
- Knowledge of the agile software development processes and methodologies
