Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food was founded December 16, 1947 and is one of the founders of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje. During its long-lasting tradition, the Faculty has achieved fruitful educational, scientific and applied results, as well as active cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions in the related field. With regards to the academic staff, personnel, and equipment, the Faculty is leading institution in the area of agriculture and food in Republic of Macedonia.

OUR MISSION

The need for food and agricultural crops for industrial processing, and recently for bio fuel production, is increasing continuously. However, rigorous production standards are being constantly introduced and regulated. Contemporary agricultural production is currently based on modern technology and implementation of new methods and techniques. In addition, the global priority is towards sustainable use of natural resources while protecting the environment. Therefore, in accordance with these processes, Faculty imperative is to create academic profile capable of responce to the needs of the contemporary agricultural production.

OUR GOALS

To offer study curricula for creation of academic profile with knowledge and skills necessary for profitable agricultural production and management of natural resources.
Provision of scientific personnel for successful engagement in research work in the area of agriculture, food and environment.
To offer scientific staff, technically qualified for deliverance of quick and accurate technological solutionsfor food and raw-materials production and for organization and management of the production.
Implementation of Bologna principles in education and creation of European education model.
Modernization of the facilities, laboratories, equipment and staff for education and scientific activities as basis for qualitative education and proficiency.
Technology transfer through intensive cooperation with agricultural producers, processing industry and related institutions

Cooperation with other educational and scientific institutions;
Mobility of students and education personnel;
Education and specific training of the employees directly involved in agriculture production, food industry, agriculture development agencies, non-governmental organizations and government institutions engaged in the creation of the agricultural policy.
