Global Water Works Reaches 9 Installations in First Quarter of Anniversary Campaign

Three months after launching its ambitious 10th Anniversary Campaign for 50 systems, Global Water Works is installing its ninth system of the new year, spanning the entire country—from communities east of Mount Kilimanjaro near the Indian Ocean to villages along the shores of Lake Victoria in western Kenya. Together, the nine new projects, build on the prior 16 systems, bringing the total rainwater systems to 25, impacting more than 5,000 children and adults attending host schools and churches.  

The milestone comes as Global Water Works reflects on a decade of service and partnership. On March 16, the organization celebrated its 10th anniversary with more than 300 children and partners connecting virtually from eight locations across Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

"Our anniversary campaign was built around a simple but powerful goal: demonstrating how quickly communities can be transformed when local leaders, donors, and volunteers work together to reveal God’s abundance through rainwater harvesting systems," said Frank Slovenec, Executive Director of Global Water Works, and Hartwell, GA resident.

While the rainwater harvesting systems provide safe drinking water, local leaders consistently report that the benefits extend far beyond water access.

Among the key benefits emerging from the installations:

• Water brings healing.  Communities report reductions in waterborne illness and improved health among children and families.

• Water supports education.  Students spend less time searching for water and more time in school, leading to improved attendance and participation.

• Water strengthens churches.  Congregations are able to host larger gatherings, outreach events, youth programs, and community activities because reliable water is available.

• Water builds healthy, faith-filled communities.  Churches and schools become centers of hope, service, and community development.

• Water creates dignity and opportunity.  Women and children are freed from long daily walks to unsafe water sources, allowing more time for education, work, and family life.

Pastors throughout the network often summarize the impact with a simple phrase:

"The tanks are preaching."

As clean water becomes available, people experience tangible evidence of care, compassion, and practical faith in action.

Growing Churches and Schools

One of the most encouraging outcomes has been the ability of churches and schools to support larger gatherings and expanded programming.

Many congregations previously struggled to host events because they lacked sufficient water for drinking, cooking, handwashing, and sanitation. With rainwater harvesting systems in place, churches can confidently welcome larger groups for worship, training, youth activities, and community celebrations.

Schools have similarly benefited by providing students with reliable access to safe drinking water throughout the day, creating healthier learning environments and reducing disruptions caused by water shortages.

Campaign Goal of 50 New Systems

The anniversary campaign seeks to install 50 rainwater harvesting systems during Global Water Works' 10th year. Each system follows the American Rainwater Catchment and Systems Association (ARCSA.org) standards and is implemented through a partnership of local leaders, volunteer labor, prayer support, and approximately $5,000 in contributed funding.
