Application Development Manager Claros

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Claros Applications Development Manager is responsible for supporting sales of Hach’s Claros portfolio into municipal/ industrial wastewater and drinking water applications. The Claros ADM is responsible for sharing knowledge and understanding of all applications pertaining Claros portfolio. This role will support targeting and opportunity progression identified by marketing, key account leadership, and/or the Hach Sales Team in Central Europe to drive growth.
This is a high impact, seasoned technical sales position critical to the successful deployment of Hach’s and Danaher’s Water Quality Platform strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with Key Account Managers and Local/Regional Sales Managers on customer visits to provide process knowledge and expert advice on potential Claros solutions
- Conduct site surveys to assess the suitability of any given customer site for Hach’s Claros solutions
- Conduct analysis of customer performance data to identify & recommend best solution for customer based on needs assessment & identification
- Assist the front-line sales team with the preparation of proposals; instrument location diagrams and detailed proposal specifications.
- Support the implementation of Claros solutions at all stages from concept stage, specification development, installation, commissioning and sign off by the end user
- Provide customer training on software solution installations as needed
- Assist Sales Directors & Managers to identify potential areas for new Claros business utilizing existing solutions and/or install base
- Provide regular training of the sales team with regards to Claros solutions and associated processes
- Prepare and deliver Claros solutions and related presentations at specified industry conferences, trade fairs and customer offices
- Support testing of newly developed Claros Process Management (RTC) and Instrument Management (MSM) modules at customer sites, driving alignment between customer, BU/Sales and development team; Inclusive of customized solutions
- Utilize market and application knowledge to support NPD activities and drive further development of Claros solutions
- Coordinate with management to provide detailed forecasts and action plans for the growth
- Support implementing corrective measures as appropriate dictated by performance to plan
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key customers by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs and resolving problems
- Collects and reports information on all competitive activity, business opportunities, sales trends and results within the assigned market

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES / LEADERSHIP ANCHORS
- Strong commercial acumen and communication skills required to navigate complex sales and consultative selling situations
- Experience/ability to identify the audience and communicate appropriately, ranging from complicated technical processes to commercial impact, at the correct level using the appropriate vocabulary
- Vertical market water process, controls, and commercial awareness
- Experience or awareness with instrumentation and control methodologies
- Passion for technology and the value, safety, reliability, and efficiencies that coordinated hardware-software-service solutions deliver
- Strong project management skills; will operate as a key member of account team and drive opportunity teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering, chemistry, biology, process technology degree required or equivalent experience
- Master’s Degree preferred
- 5-10 years relevant experience in the water industry in a commercial role or relevant experience with a utility or a contractor/consultant providing engineered solutions for the water industry with an emphasis on process design and/or optimization
- History of articulating and promoting design and/or process changes to technical, operational, and financial stakeholders
- Detailed end to end knowledge of the wastewater and wastewater sludge treatment processes including primary sedimentation processes, activated sludge processes for both organic and nutrient removal, chemical dosing for phosphate removal, anaerobic digestion and polymer dosing for sludge thickening and dewatering processes strongly desired
- Experience and comfort with communication protocols utilized in the water controls marketplace and how Hach’s instrumentation and control systems could interface.
- Ability to travel up to 30% within EU
- Must have and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record which is acceptable to Hach
- The work environment for this position is both office and field; the ADM can maintain a home office
- English language skills in spoken and written form, including technical and engineering terms
