Primary Responsibilities HDR is looking for a Senior Utility Management Services (UMS) Consultant to join our Florida Water Business Group. This position may be based out of one of the following Florida offices: Tampa, Sarasota, Orlando, West Palm Beach, or Miami Lakes. HDR’s UMS Business Class provides national leadership to develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical services for municipal water and wastewater utility support services, particularly utility planning, asset management, finance, and operations consulting. The Senior Utility Management Consultant will provide technical support for a broad range of projects, which may include: condition assessment and rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure, utility management/asset management, business process assessments, strategic planning, operations optimization, regulatory support, system conveyance, master planning, technology selection/on-boarding, or data management/ visualization. The Senior Utility Management Consultant will implement a range of best management practices with water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utilities including condition assessment, asset management and maintenance management best practices. This individual may also be expected to: - Participate in delivery of project services to meet client expectations, including project management
- Participate in the marketing and delivery of UMS services to existing and potential clients
- Participate in internal and external professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices including presentations for professional associations
- Implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews
- Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation
- Commit to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Schedule, assign, and review work of project team members
- Support HDR’s growth plan for asset management, condition assessment, utility planning, client interaction, preparing proposals and estimates for prospective projects, scope development and budget development
- Take part in project team building and supporting drinking water and wastewater opportunities and projects including facility planning, business case evaluations, CMOM implementation programs, Clean Water Act regulatory technical support efforts, and asset management and condition assessment data management
*LI-SM1 Qualifications Required Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical discipline within the industry Minimum of 10 years of water and/or wastewater engineering experience including planning and implementation of inspections and condition assessments, as well as development of asset management strategies Project management experience with utility management and/or operational related services Strong client relations skills, along with an interest in client and business development Excellent communications, teamwork and interpersonal skills Active engagement in professional and industry organizations Excellent team player with ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical or related engineering field 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience Florida PE license Experience in performing and coordinating field work for condition assessment, data collection and rehabilitation recommendations Database assessments and analysis, GIS analysis, computer programing in support of infrastructure planning Preference will be given to local candidates, however non-local candidates with outstanding resumes will be considered, and relocation assistance may be offered to qualifying candidates Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
