I remember we talked about incorporating a simple treatment system into the roller some years ago to ensure the collected water was safe and acceptable where the source may be contaminated. We didn't come up with a solution at the time, but perhaps other readers may have some ideas on this. Regards

Good observation but in general only the part used for drinking needs treatment. Options are boiling, chlorine or household water filters. There now are many good quality WHO tested water filters in the market like Nazava and Tulip filters. See also the website of CAWST at HWTS options.
