This builds on the organizations’ existing relationship, moving from individual desalination projects towards a longer-term partnership covering infrastructure development, engineering and implementation.

The agreement is intended to support WEB Bonaire’s 2030 objectives, including increased desalination capacity, expanded post-treatment capacity and additional supporting infrastructure.

“Expanding our partnership with WEB Bonaire means our teams will work alongside each other with a common goal to grow the island’s desalination and water treatment infrastructure,” said Amit Meninger, VP, Microelectronics, IDE Technologies. “As Bonaire continues to grow and develop, we must ensure its water treatment and technology solutions are evolving with it to support the continued availability of safe, high-quality water for the community of Bonaire.”

The framework establishes a basis for cooperation for an initial period of up to five years, with individual projects subject to WEB Bonaire’s long-term planning, internal approval processes and applicable regulatory requirements.

Planned developments include new desalination units to increase daily production and skid capacity, alongside new intake and outfall infrastructure designed for a capacity of 55,000 m³/d.

The plans also include two new post-treatment units, each with a capacity of 6,000 m³/d, providing a combined additional post-treatment capacity of 12,000 m³/d. Further supporting infrastructure, including pipelines, is also anticipated to accommodate the island’s current and future growth.
