Job Description
IFS Service Management is the market-leading service management solution, a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for the 6th consecutive time.  Our solution empowers our customers to deliver service excellence and optimize workforce efficiency allowing them to embrace Service as a strong and profitable revenue stream. We deliver solutions for every part of the service lifecycle, from product management, contracts, warranty and billing through IoT, AI powered scheduling optimization, mobile field service, customer engagement and self-service, and remote assistance. Our service management capabilities manage complex use cases and accelerate digital transformation goals.  

A Manager / Director Software Engineering (Software Engineering Leader) for the R&D Service Management team is responsible for the process of delivering software at IFS relating development investments to the overall R&D Product Strategy. The ability to articulate the What and Why to their teams based on their close working relationships with both Product and Program Managers is key to the success of individuals in this role. As well as working with the Director Quality Assurance to ensure quality is constantly reviewed and is a key part of the planning and execution stages of development.

•  Software Engineering Leader establishes and looks to continuously improve consistent development processes in line with the wider industry to ensure the timely delivery of high quality, secure, and performant software. 
• Software Engineering Leader coaches and builds both teams and individuals and is responsible for appraising their direct reports. Each team member should have achievable but stretching goals to allow for personal growth and career development. Should there be the need, poor performance will be addressed for the good of both the individual and the team. Software Engineering leaders play a key role in the recruitment of team members and will look to upskill the team at any available opportunity.  
• Software Engineering Leader should also foster good proactive relationships with stakeholders across IFS. 

Qualifications

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology or in a field relevant to the technical and/or functional area.
• 5-10 year's hands-on experience in a leadership role or in a similar capacity 
• Experience in leading globally distributed teams
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills along with an innovative mindset.
• Previous working experience with IFS products or Enterprise grade software is a definite advantage.
