About

Recipient of a doctorate in fluid mechanics from INPT (Institut national de Polytechnique de Toulouse-France), a higher education degree “Etudes Approfondies” (DEA) in physics and chemistry of the environment from the same institute and hydraulic engineer diploma from ENIT (Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tunis), Mr. ABID has participated in various multi-disciplinary environmental and risk assessment studies.

Over 30 years’ experience in the fields of environmental assessment, management and monitoring, environmental regulation for Local Authorities, technical and project monitoring and evaluation of European-funded environment, biodiversity development projects, atmospheric pollution and wastewater treatment. Mr Abid has also participated in many projects aiming to quantify environmental and social impacts and benefits identified from renewable energy projects.

As a member of LEAD (Leadership for environment and development), Mr. ABID had the opportunity to study the complexity of sustainable community development with a cross-cutting focus on governance and resource management through real cases and stakeholders in many countries (Morocco, Senegal, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mexico…).
