Online Expert Certification Course on
Industrial Water Management
Certification by ICCW-IITM and CII
Dates: 30 & 31 July, 7 & 8 August 2020 | Time: 1500 to 1800 hrs.
Context:
Industrial Water consumption is around 10% of the total water consumed among major water-consuming sectors of industry, municipal 20% and agriculture 70% in the Country. Though it is a less consumer compared to other sectors Indian industry particularly manufacturing and services industry has been in the forefront towards reducing its specific water consumption (SWC). Several National and International benchmarks on SWC have been created by Indian industry in the water-intensive sectors of iron and steel, pulp, and paper, non-ferrous, chemicals, fertilizers, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical, automobiles and FMCG. In spite of these the Indian industry has the opportunity and capacity to further improve its water use efficiency pertaining to the current pandemic situation and sustainability with the latest technological advancements.
Against this context, ICCW-IITM and CII have come together to offer an online certification program on industrial water management for the benefit of the industry members. The theme is on reducing specific water consumption (SWC) which is water consumed in m3 per unit of product produced or serviced through the implementation of 4Rs- reduce, reuse, recycle and recharge mechanisms
Objective
The program is aimed to prepare the participants for the implementation of 4Rs leading to a reduction in specific water consumption based on a broad set of common impact indicators.
