WOW - Water on Wheels
Published on by Dr. Parag Agarwal, Employee at JanaJal for JanaJal
All existing water treatment plants that are already installed must be refurbished. Most of them are grossly under-utilised in terms water treatment capacity and hence face trust deficit by consumers besides operational and financial viability issues. All decentralised water infrastructure set up by private or government agencies, charitable foundations and CSR initiatives must adopt a services focus under a unified technology backbone connecting all existing plants that allows for remote monitoring and supervision in the real-time. Key benefits of our proposed solutions are:
- Technology agnostic approach towards water treatment would ensure water conservation. Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology would only be used where essential.
- Cashless transacting essential through QR codes, RFID cards and digital transacting through 122 e-wallets using digital touch-screen user interface. Currency notes and coins can act like carriers of COVID-19.
- Monitoring and display of qualitative parameters such as TDS, turbidity, hardness and absence of Fluoride, Iron, Arsenic, etc. essential for building consumer confidence and influencing behavioural change.
- JanaJal WOW (Water on Wheels) a fully tech-managed, customised Electric Vehicle (EV) be operated under social entrepreneurship model would deliver safe water upto the doorstep of households daily.
