# Head of FoodTech
We are currently looking for our next **Head of FoodTech** to join our management team and **lead the Food Science strategy and implementation for the production of a lemna-based agnostic functional ingredient**, aligned with the business strategy and mission.
What you will be working on**
- **Strategy**:
- Build and lead the strategy to produce high-value Lemna-based ingredients. Convey the strategy to your team by creating clear goals and objectives, as well as actions to achieve them.
- Serve as subject matter expert in ingredients design and development.
- **R&D**:
- Formulate an execution plan for existing ideas and the design and execution of new research efforts by providing strategic and tactical direction to the R&D team.
- Build strategic partnerships with the strongest universities and research institutes operating at the cutting edge of science and technology
- **Management**:
- Recruit, train and assist the technical team needed to achieve the scientific goals and meet business milestones.
- Preparation of written and oral presentations of research team findings for the CEO, customers, and investors
- Manage the budget of equipment and hardware needed for the team.
- **Application**:
- Lead kitchen applications development in our food lab and with selected partners
- Source partners such as chefs, plant-based food lab and CPGs to validate the applications
- **Production**:
- Source and create partnerships with industrials, outsource manufacturers and pilot plants to scale our transformation processes
- Support in scaling up extraction processes, starting with color and taste removal, as well as optimizing ingredient functionality while maintaining stable nutritional values.
## **What you bring**
- MSc. in Food Science, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline (Ph.D. preferred, MSc. accepted).
- Fundamental knowledge and proven experience of at least 10 years developing transformation processes to add value to prime materials (grains, grasses, fruits, algae, or any type of plants).
- Successful track record at developing innovative food ingredients, going from the creation of the ingredients to their adoption by the food industry.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience creating scientists teams in big corporations, scales ups or startups.
- Experience in high demanding professional environments, either agro corporations, biotech/food tech startups, or high level academic R&D projects.
- General understanding of regulatory requirements for manufacturing feed and food ingredients.
- Strong network in the plant-based food industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish.
- You thrive in a job that doesn't include a traditional workplace structure. You are a self-starter who doesn't need direct supervision to motivate you for success.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by the process of building something lasting from the ground up.
- An open mindset to receive feedback and availability to do the same with your collaborators.
- Interest in sustainability, circular economy, and/or environmental protection challenges.
