The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Hydrogeologist, the Field Hydrogeologist will primarily supervise hydrogeological drilling and bore construction across all iron ore MinRes sites. The role will involve rotating across multiple operational and project sites, following water well drill rigs, and on occasions, RC exploration drilling for water exploration purposes. Pivotal to the role is the ability to apply agility with clear and effective communication and collaboration skills that foster successful outcomes.
This is an exciting and dynamic FIFO based opportunity on an 8:6 roster.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Assist in planning and coordination of field programs and activities; supervise programs and activities
- Drilling and bore construction supervision; logging lithology, water yield and water quality
- Groundwater monitoring data collection and reduction; data QA/QC
- Effectively communicate with corporate hydrogeologists
- Recognise and communicate potential problems; provide potential solutions
- Maintain a professional on-site representation of the hydrogeology team
- Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders
- Logistical coordination to support other hydrogeology related tasks and water infrastructure
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Tertiary Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering or a Geoscience Degree
- Experience in a similar Hydrogeological role or other hydrogeological related experience will be considered if relevant competency is demonstrated
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Team approach and outcome focussed to deliver quality work
